A versatile and accomplished vocalist based in the UK, renowned for her soulful, emotive sound. Since embarking on her professional music journey, she has captivated audiences with her exceptional range and versatility across multiple genres, including Gospel, Soul, R&B, and Pop.
Currently touring with The House and Garage Orchestra singing backing vocals for legendary House and Garage Icons such as Kele Le Roc, Sweet Female Attitude, Shelley E Nelson and JJ to name a few. Laverne has been passionate about the genre since her youth, finding that the infectious beats and soulful melodies resonate with her on a personal level. For her, performing these timeless tracks is a true joy.
Her experiences with prestigious choirs and notable performances have shaped her professional path, leading Laverne to sing at high-profile events such as the King’s Coronation concert with MDL Singers lead by Mark DeLisser. The choir provided backing vocals for artists such as Tiwa Savage, Katy Perry Lionel Richie and Take That among other notable artists.
One of her most standout moments in her career includes lending her soulful vocals to projects with world-renowned artist, producer and songwriter Fraser T. Smith in the studio and performing backing vocals live for Future Utopia on their Album Launch ‘Django’s High’. Additionally being a part of the choir BassNote Collective and working with Vocal Director Toni Robinson has further enriched her experience and artistry, allowing her to reach new heights in her musical endeavours.
Laverne had the opportunity to perform as one of the Supremes, Florence Ballard in the UK Theatre show, ‘In the Name of Love: The Diana Ross Story’. This role brought Laverne’s stunning vocals to national stages as she brought to life the chronological story of the hits of Diana Ross and the Supremes.
